Veritas Information Platform

Veritas Information Platform

The BOE Veritas Information Framework is the result of 15 years working with oil operators in a pursuit to deliver information to operations personnel.  Throughout our journey, we realized there are two fundamental pillars to any successful information effort in the oilfield.

  • One version of the truth - too often, operators have to sift through competing reporting systems tied to disparate asset lists.  Many companies will have up to a half dozen well lists floating around the company, thus creating chaos when decisions are made from reports tied to these systems.

  • Information management core competency- with the onslaught of terms like data analytics, AI, ML, the definition of information has been muddled.  Simply put, information is data that has meaning.  That simple definition is further complicated by understanding of core competencies in information creation.

One Version of the Truth

The first principle of the Veritas Information Framework is that "there is only one version of the truth", and with this is mind, what better source to use for the truth than your company's assets.  Using our Asset Management System (Concordia), we allow for the storage of all assets pertinent to your company, down to the wellbore level, complete with all the appropriate keys and logical asset groupings.  You may also provide your own company-specific groupings with the Concordia application.

Information Management Core Competency

To use a football analogy, the best teams are the ones that put the ball in the hands of their best players.  Running a company is no different - it is imperative to deliver all information possible to the operational decision makers in your company, for their decisions will decide the ultimate outcome of your company.  This can only be accomplished by distinguishing between Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Analysis.

Business Intelligence

Using the Veritas Administration tool (Saddle) allows you to build all the necessary business intelligence into a centralized data object repository, complete with the ability to assign users to specific objects.

Leveraging the power of SQL connected to the Asset Management tool (Concordia) ensures that your company's information delivery is fast, easy, and most importantly, consistent.

Data Analysis

Decision makers can consume the data objects in one of three rendering engines - 1) dashboards, 2) grids, or 3) printable reports.  Each rendering option allows the end user to turn the Business Intelligence (BI) into information by applying their own grouping, filtering, sorting, as well as linking one data object to other.
